{"id":19,"date":"2021-08-31T05:51:05","date_gmt":"2021-08-31T05:51:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.virginiabcrawford.com\/?page_id=19"},"modified":"2021-09-10T10:36:45","modified_gmt":"2021-09-10T17:36:45","slug":"obituary","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.virginiabcrawford.com\/?page_id=19","title":{"rendered":"Obituary"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Virginia B Crawford<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.virginiabcrawford.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/obituary-mom-1.png\" alt=\"Virginia Crawford\" class=\"wp-image-347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.virginiabcrawford.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/obituary-mom-1.png 400w, https:\/\/www.virginiabcrawford.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/obituary-mom-1-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/www.virginiabcrawford.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/obituary-mom-1-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:14px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:22px\">Virginia B Crawford was welcomed into this world on January 26, 1941, to the union of John and Maggie Burnette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:22px\">Virginia accepted Jesus Christ at a very early age, and remained a stead fast believer throughout her life.&nbsp; She consistently gave testimony to the many blessings of trusting the Lord and to the power of prayer; \u201c<em>put your trust in the Lord and you will always be guided to do what the Lord wants you to do<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:22px\">Virginia\u2019s major works, deeds, and contributions include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-rounded\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.virginiabcrawford.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/roses-1.png\" alt=\"Roses\" class=\"wp-image-352\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.virginiabcrawford.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/roses-1.png 300w, https:\/\/www.virginiabcrawford.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/roses-1-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\" style=\"font-size:22px\"><li><em>Five decades as an educator; teaching children to achieve, read and write.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\" style=\"font-size:22px\"><li><em>Being one of the pioneers in starting the \u201cHead Start Program\u201d, that sought to help educate kids in her local community, then in Quitman County at large.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\" style=\"font-size:22px\"><li><em>Being a part of evolving the Head Start program to include reading, math, and science.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\" style=\"font-size:22px\"><li><em>Receiving a degree in Early Childhood Development from Coahoma Community College where she was a leader in her class.<\/em><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"has-black-color has-text-color wp-block-list\" style=\"font-size:22px\"><li><em>Recipient of numerous awards, certificates and praises for her work and advocacy for children; and her many years of service to her church, Greenhill M. B.
